GOVT. RETURNS NITHYANANDA ASHRAM PROPERTY, HC DISPOSES WRIT PETITION

With the Karnataka Govt. voluntarily handing back the control of the Bidadi Nithyananda Dhyanapeetam to the ashram authorities on 19th June this year after a one-week lockout, the writ petition challenging the seizure has been disposed of by the Karnataka High Court. Nithyananda Dhyanapeetam can, however, file a writ challenging the cause and legality of the seizure.  However, as the property was handed back voluntarily and since the government itself has undergone a change, the ashram has decided not to pursue the matter further.
