TRANSLATION
One should place the heels contrawise under the scrotum and turned upwards, with the knees placed on the ground, mouth kept open and in Jalandhara Bandha and should fix the gaze at the tip of the nose. This is Simhasana, the destroyer of all diseases.
TECHNIQUE
- Be seated in the kneel-down pose
- Cross the ankles and place them under the perineum
- Place the hands on the knees
- Spread out fingers
- Place the chin on the throat and contract the throat
- Open the mouth widely sticking the tongue
- Gaze at the tip of the nose
- Remain in this posture for 30seconds

TRANSLATION
Having contracted the chest, the chin should be placed up on the chest. This is called Jalandhara Bandha and by this the sixteen adhaaraas are closed.
TECHNIQUE
- Remain in same asana
- Inhale fully Place the chin on the chest and contract the throat
- Hold as long as possible judiciously
- Fix the Gaze at the tip of the nose
- Release the throat lock and exhale slowly, when you feel you can’t hold anymore
- Do this 21 times

3. TRISHOOLA KUMBHAKA

TRANSLATION
Always inhale through the nostrils and mouth together at a time. This is called the Trishoola Kumbhaka – the remover of triple sufferings – as explained by the Thrishooli Shiva.
TECHNIQUE
- Sit in the same posture
- Now you can pull your tongue in
- Inhale through both the nostrils and the mouth simultaneously
- Hold as long as you can
- Then slowly exhale through the nostrils
- Do this 21 times

TRANSLATION
One should fill the air slowly into the throat like swalowing a morsel of rice and should retain it for maximum possible time, with firm application of Jalandhara Bandha ( explained below) and then should exhale it from the throat. This is Naga Kumbhaka explained by Shiva. By this practice one is able to win over hunger and thirst.
TECHNIQUE
- Swallow air very slowly through the mouth morsel by morsel, like how you eat rice
- Swallow the air
- When you are full, hold as long as you can
- When you cannot hold anymore, Then release the lock,exhale slowly from the throat
- Do this continuously 21 times

TRANSLATION
Having inhaled through the left nostril and retained, inhale through the right nostril. Having then inhaled through both the nostrils, retain the breath (all these in one shot before exhalation). This is the Trinetra Kumbhaka – the giver of three siddhis – as explained by the three-eyed Shiva.
TECHNIQUE
- Inhale through the left nostril
- Hold the breath as long as you can judiciously
- Without exhalation, inhale through the right nostril
- Hold the breath as long as you can judiciously
- Again without exhaling, inhale through both the nostrils
- Hold the breath as long as you can judiciously
- Now exhale through both the nostrils slowly and relax
- Do this 21 times
