Nithyananda Peetam, at the Ujjain Kumbh Puri, does not cease to surprise you. Every day, we get to hear about more and more yogic powers being visibly lived by the devotees and disciples of Paramahamsa Nithyananda.

Nirahara Samyama, is an age-old science that was used by yogis of ancient India to go beyond hunger and live long. This mystical science has been made user-friendly for humanity today by Paramahamsa Nithyananda.

Think about it, what we consume as food is a modified version of the Sun’s energy. Our digestive is away to directly consume the usable part of the Sun’s energy directly from the environment. This usable energy is called prana and Nirahara Samyama uses this energy directly to keep the body functioning and give it an opportunity to self-heal.

More than 2000 disciples of Paramahamsa Nithyananda from over 50 countries are here in Ujjain to participate in the Kumbh Mela. Many hundreds of them have completed the Nirahara Samyama which essentially boils down to avoiding all solid food. The process involves being only on liquid food for two, seven and eleven days at a stretch with a one-day break in between. People who have successfully completed these three stages, go on to do 21 days at a stretch in the presence of their Guru. This process is supported by a simple meditation that one needs to do for 21 minutes a day.

After this initiation, they can choose to be only on liquid food for the rest of their lives if they choose to.

Benefits

People end up over eating when they are stressed or even when they are celebrating. Practicing Nirahara Samyama helps them to overcome such unhealthy eating patterns. Medical studies on people doing this process show that apart from losing excess weight, their blood work including Vitamin D levels improve significantly.

Nirahara Samyama also rejuvenates the body and people who have practiced it have reported significant anti-ageing results. An example of this is Debbie Chance (Ma Nithya Balananda) from the USA. She is well over her 60s but looks a few decades younger. There are those like Ma Nithya Durgananda from Singapore who have been on only liquid food for over 2 years at a stretch.
