10th March 2013  is Mahashivaratri – the Night of the celebration of Lord Shiva.

Lord Shiva is the embodiment of the tattvas (principles of life) expounded by the four Vedas, which are Sampoorti, Shraddha, Upayanam and Apyayanam – i.e. integrity, authenticity, responsibility and enriching. He expresses these four truths in His very form. The damaru – the sacred drum that Lord Shiva holds In His right hand, is the representation of Integrity, while the agni – the fire that He holds on His left hand is the fire of Authenticity. The abhayahasta – the blessing hand - symbolizes Responsibility, and the hand with which He holds Devi, the Universal Mother, is symbolic of enriching the universe.

During Mahashivaratri, the space where the four tattvas of which Lord Shiva is the embodiment, gets created intensely in every individual in the form of Kundalini awakening. Vedic science advises us to observe a fast and spend the day in prayer and meditation, to prepare the body and mind to receive the huge influx of spiritual energy. The highly charged atmosphere helps us transform the four tattvas into satya – experiential truth in our lives. On this night, the whole universe supports us to experience the tattvas as satya.

This year, Maha Shivaratri 2013 celebrations with Paramahamsa Nithyananda will be held at Nithyananda Dhyanapeetam’s international headquarters in Nithayananda Nagara, Bidadi, near Bangalore. On the same day, Paramahamsa Nithyananda will also be performing the sacred Viraja Homa to initiate spiritual aspirants into the path of sannyas. The Viraja Homa will be followed by satsang and meditation, wherein Paramahamsa Nithyananda will initiate all those present physically as well as online, into the explosive Shiva Kundalini Dhyaan, opening up a new space for the four tattvas to become reality in our life. Thousands will be participating in the meditation from around the world, via Nithyananda TV and two-way video-conferencing. This meditation is expected to create a huge ripple of positive energy, whose effects will be felt globally.

Paramahamsa Nithyananda will also perform the Maha Rudraabhishekam to the ancient Swayambhu Linga, which represents the very life energy which creates, sustains and rejuvenates all the worlds. This will be followed by Darshan and blessings to all.
