The Hon’ble High Court of Madras today allowed the Writ Petition filed by Nithyananda Dhyanapeetam and set aside the showcause notice issued by the Hindu Religious & Charitable Endowments Department (HR&CE) claiming that the Tiruvannamalai ashram of Sri Nithyananda Swami comes under the purview of HR&CE as it is a Hindu religious institution.
On 26 November 2012, the Madras High Court ordered a status quo till the disposal of the case for both the parties – Nithyananda Dhyanapeetam Tiruvannamalai and HR&CE (Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowments), regarding the issue raised by the HR&CE that the Tiruvannamalai ashram of Nithyananda Dhyanapeetam falls under the purview of HR&CE.
Over 100 devotees of Nithyananda Dhyanapeetam approached the SP (Salem-Rural) with a petition against the attempts by a certain Gunasekharan to grab the ashram property
